Bernard Goldberg, former principal flutist of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra for many years, is recognized as one of the world’s leading performers and teachers of the instrument. Among others, he has studied with George Barrere, Marcel Moyse, and Pablo Casals. At the age of 21, he joined the Cleveland Orchestra as Principal Flute after having graduated from Juilliard at age 19. He has toured extensively as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician, having performed many times at Carnegie Hall and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He currently teaches at the Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music in New York.
